La Apolo
Tracksuits, long hair and… iPhones. Converse, skinny jeans and… electric motorbikes. King Gizzard meets Triana, flamenco meets fuzz, feelings meet noise. If these sentences didn’t make you feel a desperate urge to listen to Derby Motoreta’s Burrito Kachimba, wait till you see them live. The DNA of this sextet from Seville has two prominent genes: the first, the quinqui component usually found in rock from Andalusia, distinctive marks in pioneering bands such as Smash and Medina Azahara; the second, the psychedelic fabric that imposes through fuzz its blueprint on bands such as King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard and Pond. And from the sum of both rises kinkidelia, the unique style created by DMBK. Their first album will come out at the end of the year, but it’s starting today that you can expect to be completely gobsmacked.
